The University of Washington Elections Database (UWED), housed at the Center for the Study of Demography and Ecology at the University of Washington, offers a publicly available data set on estimated racial demographics in electoral precincts in Washington State. The data set covers all precincts from 2007 to 2022. UWED also provides public use data about language minority groups for each county in Washington State.

This set of research projects seeks to improve the vote-by-mail experience by examining trends in ballot challenges, cures, and rejections across the State of Washington. Research examines variation in ballot cure and rejection rates by county geography, age, race and ethnicity, and gender, with the goal of improving voters’ understanding of the vote-by-mail and signature verification processes in the state.
